Emily as Transition

I remember swallowing

what I could of Emily

& then finding a sword

in my belly. What was

left of her encouraged me,

with the non-sequitur

of her body’s lithe intent,

to take desperation

to our captor’s bank.

Ruin is only ever fun

when you’re ending

the system that promised

you that love was nothing

more than a comma

& greed was every period.

Emily as the Alchemical Laboratory and Astronomical Observatory of Uraniborg

Dark wizard, ruined castle,

fallen towers, inexplicable

trap doors everywhere

& somewhere in there,

a life that can never end.

Have you any wonder why

I spend all my time wandering

around her. I could die.

I could live forever, with her.

Emily as Unstoppable Joy

What I know best

is a bright, open life

of her secret places.
